Why The Promise Exists
The Promise began with a simple lesson learned during childhood.
While walking through nature with her father, she came across a feather on the ground and reached down to pick it up. Her father gently stopped her and explained that the feather carried meaning. If she wished to take it, she first needed to ask permission and offer something in return.
The lesson was simple but powerful: nothing should be taken without respect.
That moment became a lifelong reminder that our actions carry responsibility. The way we treat people, the decisions we make as leaders, and the conversations we choose to have all influence the communities we share.
The Promise was created from that lesson.
It exists to encourage reflection, strengthen leadership, and promote meaningful dialogue about responsibility, human dignity, and the relationships that shape our communities.
