Founder’s Reflections is a space where Summer, the founder of The Promise Education Corp, shares the experiences, lessons, and insights that shaped her journey. From childhood moments spent learning about respect for the Earth to a two-decade career in policing and later academic research into human rights and policing systems, these reflections offer a deeper understanding of the values that guide The Promise.
These writings are not simply about the past—they are about learning from experience, asking difficult questions, and exploring how personal understanding can lead to meaningful change. Through storytelling and reflection, Summer invites readers to consider the importance of balance, responsibility, and connection to both community and the natural world.
Many of these reflections explore the moments that influenced her path: lessons from family, experiences within policing, discoveries through research, and the realization that meaningful change begins with understanding ourselves and the systems we participate in.
